On the other side of The Bay lies Cathedral, another right-handed point break which opens on a beach break with several right and left peaks. It works with a W-NW swell and easterly and needs more swell to break. Indeed, the spot really starts working when the swell reaches 5ft and it can hold up to 15ft.
With a decent swell, the paddle out is hard and a natural selection takes place. If you are lucky, you might end up surfing the spot all alone. When paddling out, try to stay really close to the rocks as the current will suck you out.
The wave works best from mid to high tide depending the size. Sometimes it can also be really good at low, but be careful with the occasional rocks sticking out. This spot is more powerful than Imsouane Bay and can inflict some serious hold-downs.
