Located in East Java, Indonesia, Parangtritis is a peaky beach break that offers up some great sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Parangtritis?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures rise to 28 degrees in the summer before dropping to 25 degrees in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
