Located in East Caithness, Scotland, Sinclairs Bay is a fun beach break that offers up good performance waves. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. You can see it when it’s pumping from the nearby A9 road. There’s a river mouth that creates well-formed banks in the middle of the beach. Find shelter from winds to the south of the beach.
What are the best surf conditions for Sinclairs Bay?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here isn’t the most consistent (4/10) and will mostly be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 5/4 year-round here. Water temperatures rise to 13 degrees in the summer and drop to 7 degrees in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
