Located in East Caithness, Scotland, Keiss is a quality left reef break that offers up some great sections for turns and hacks. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 150 meters over a rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Keiss?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step up as the size picks up. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides. Needs a big swell.
We recommend wearing a 5/4 year round here. The water temperatures rise to 13 degrees in July and drop to 7 degrees in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
