Just at the northern tip of Big Sur in Central California, you’ll find Andrew Molera State Park. If you hike about a mile in, there is a picturesque cobblestone beach with a river mouth. Here there is a fun, righthand river mouth/point break. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and can peel for up to 200 meters on the right swell. Be aware of the large, local wildlife.

The point gets good between waist high and triple overhead. It needs a big swell to get working though. We recommend a longboard when it’s smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up.
