Located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Cidreira is a pretty good pier setup that offers both lefts and rights on both sides of the pier. The waves here are not the easiest to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Rio Grande do Sul?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summers when water temperatures rise to 24°C (75°F). In the winter, a 4/3 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 13°C (55°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
