Located on the North Shore of Oahu, Log Cabins is a moody right and left that breaks best on peaky N swells. It breaks over a lava reef bottom gnarlier than Pipe. Log Cabins rarely gets crowded. From shoulder to overhead it is suitable for advanced surfers. As the size rises it gets increasingly treacherous. It packs a serious punch, is usually very consistent and has submerged fingered knobs in the reef that point up. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 100 meters over that lava reef.
