More on Acid Drop

Located on Kauai, Hawaii, Acid Drop is a hard, jacking reef break that offers a fast right-hand barrel over a shallow bottom. The waves here require your A-game and the drop alone is terrifying. The wave ends in a closeout and is ridable for about 50 meters over a coral reef.

What are the best surf conditions for Acid Drop?

Gets good between chest-high and overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.

We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini More...
