More on Honoli’i
Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, Pacific Ocean, Honoli’i is a quality reef break that lies at a river mouth, offering up great performance-oriented walls that go both left and right. The waves here can be a little challenging and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. Gets hollower as the tide gets lower.
What are the best surf conditions for Honoli’i?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get very crowded at times (8/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the North, Northeast, and Northwest. Works on all tides.
