Located in Northwestern Maui, Aluhi Bay is a fun left-hand reef break that offers up a good barrel when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty heavy and break over a shallow lava reef for up to 50 meters.
What are the best surf conditions for Aluhi Bay?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride especially in summer (5/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest, although it has been rumoured to break on massive west swells.
