Located in Mamanucas and Viti Levu, Sigatoka rivermouth is the only beach break in the Fijian Island chain and it’s actually pretty damn good. The current of the river maintains quality sandbanks that encourage any neat southwest swell lines to wrap into silky smooth chocolate tubes, chocolate due to the brown river water. However, watch out for strong currents and debris from the river and the occasional “toothed fish”. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
