Located in South Carolina, The Pier is a fun Pier setup that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and when good barrel hard for about 50 meters next to the pier.
What are the best surf conditions for The Pier?
Gets good from waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. The break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is almost always very busy (9/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Works on mid to high tides.
We recommend wearing baordshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 28 degrees. In winter a 4/3 is best when temps drop to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
