More on Cape Lookout
One of the best spots in Oregon and in the whole Pacific Northwest in Central North Oregon, Cape Lookout is a world-class right-hand point break that careens over a cobblestone and sand bottom. The waves here break for about 100 meters and provide some excellent sections for turns and hacks. Kelp beds keep the surf glassy and the water is clear and clean. Locals are ornery and sometimes dangerous, gear left on the cobblestones after the strenuous hike in is often stolen and tires on outsider cars are often slashed. Call the cops if things get serious. Check the beach break on the inside if the point isn’t working.
