Located in Ocean County New Jersey, Lavallette is an average beach break that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters providing some great sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Lavallette?
Gets good from chest high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when it is smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Beginner thru advanced surfers will all find something to ride here. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and can get very crowded in summer (9/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells come from the Southeast. Works best on a mid to low tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 24 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 5/4 in the 5-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
