Located in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Kirby’s Point is a poor surf spot that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters providing fun sections for manoeuvres. If this break is working something else better is too.
What are the best surf conditions for Kirby’s Point?
Gets good from waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Kirby’s Point is best for all levels of surfers. The surf is pretty consistent (6/10) and can get quite busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells from the Northeast. Works best on low to mid tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 24 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 5/4 wetsuit in the 5 degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
