Located in Rhode Island, Ruggles is a high-quality point break that peels across a boulder-covered bottom. The waves here are long but at times difficult to surf, breaking for up to 300 meters and providing some powerful, down-the-line sections for manoeuvres. There are three distinct take-off spots: The Point, Bobbies, and Stupid Spot. On bigger swells, these will link together. Watch out for heavy currents, but be thankful for them as well because they break up the crowds.
Gets good from waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when larger here. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers.
