Located in New Hampshire, New England, Hampton Beach is a fun beach break that rolls over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some great sections for turns and carves. Go around the headland for a fast, shallow left reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Hampton Beach?
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. A longboard will work well here until the size picks up and then a shortboard is best. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is generally uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are offshore from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. Works best on mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is the call when water temperatures drop to 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
