What are the best surf conditions for Nauset Beach?
Gets good from chest high to double overhead. A shortboard is the way to go here to keep up with the steep drops. This beach is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is generally uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. Works best on a mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is the play for the 3-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
