Located in Northern Maine, Old Orchard Beach is a fun pier break that rolls over a well-defined sandbar. The waves here require a bit of surf skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters, providing some excellent sections for manoeuvres when the conditions are right.
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. If Higgins to the North is too big, this is the spot. The break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and is also usually uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West.
