What are the best surf conditions for Higgins Beach?
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This beach is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and therefore is usually crowded (8/10). The best winds are offshore from the Northwest, sheltered from North winds. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. works best on low to mid tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temps rise to 18 degrees. In winter a 5/4 wetsuit is needed for the 3-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
