Located in Northern Maine, Doc Browns is a decent lefthand point break that rolls over a rock bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some great sections for manoeuvres and cruising.
What are the best surf conditions for Doc Browns?
Gets good from head high to double overhead. A longboard is the perfect board here for every day. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here hardly ever breaks (2/10) and will usually be crowded when it does (7/10). The best winds are from the North or Northwest. Works best on late summer hurricanes from the South or Southeast. Works only on high tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 18 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is necessary for the 3 degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
