Sebastian Inlet is located on the Eastern coast of Florida, a fun inlet wave that breaks over a rock and sand bottom. The waves here can be a bit strong and break for up to 200 meters providing some hollow sections for barrels as well as faces for carves. Currents are strong as this is the entrance to an inlet, paddle hard. There are a few different peaks here, both rights and lefts, which helps disperse the crowds.
What are the best surf conditions for Sebastian Inlet?
Gets good from chest high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when some size arrives. The break is suitable for all levels of surfers, but beginners need to be strong paddlers. The surf here is pretty consistent (7/10) and can get quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 29 degrees. In winter a springsuit is best for the 22-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
