Located in on the East coast of Florida, Hobe Sound is a fun beach break that crashes onto a sand bottom. The waves here break on the outside before linking up to the inside sections, peeling for up to 100 meters providing some great sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Hobe Sound?
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and can get super crowded (9/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, and Northeast. Works best on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In winter a springsuit will keep you warm in the 22-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
