Located on the East coast of Florida, Spoils is a decent jetty wedge that breaks over a rock bottom. The waves here jack up quick and are difficult to pin down, breaking for up to 50 meters pushing out some powerful sections when it is good.
What are the best surf conditions for Spoils?
Gets good from chest high to overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here when it is good. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers due to the shallow nature of the rocks. The surf here almost never breaks (2/10) and is generally uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the Northeast and Southeast. Works best on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 30 degrees. In winter a spring suit is best in the 22-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
