Located on the East coast of Florida, Haulover is a fun beach break peppered with jetties that create nice sandbanks for waves to break over. The waves here can be tricky to surf at times but break for up to 100 meters providing some fun sections for manoeuvres. The dress code on the beach is flexible, to say the least.
What are the best surf conditions for Haulover?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size steps up. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and is usually insanely crowded (9/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works best on low to mid tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 30 degrees. In winter a spring suit is nice to have in the 22-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
