Found in Montecito, Santa Barbara County, Southern California, Miramar is a decent point break that peels across a boulder and sand bottom. The waves here are easy to surf and crumble for up to 100 meters providing great sections for longboarders to cruise on.
What are the best surf conditions for Miramar?
Gets good between waist high and overhead, but needs a big winter swell to get there. A longboard is the vessel of choice here at any size. Miramar is perfect for all levels of surfers. The surf here is not super consistent (4/10) but will be crowded (7/10). The best winds come from the Northeast, the best swells from the Northwest and West, and the best tides are low to mid.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
