Located in Carlsbad, San Diego County, Southern California, Carlsbad beach break is a decent beach break that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are easy to surf, breaking for up to 50 meters providing sections for turns and cruising. Usually better elsewhere if good here, although it is rarely crowded.

Gets good between waist high and double overhead. A longboard is best when smaller but a shortboard is recommended when a bit bigger. This stretch of beach is good for all levels of surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (7/10) and is usually uncrowded (4/10). The best swells come from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. The best ones are small and peaky. Offshore winds come from the Northeast. Best on a medium to high tide.
