What are the best surf conditions for Torrance Beach/Haggertys?
Gets good from waist high up to around overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Best for beginners all the way to advanced surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will be crowded on weekends and holidays (8/10). Outgoing tides increase hollowness and work best on mid to lower tides. The best swells come from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. The best winds are from the East.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when the water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter we recommend wearing a 4/3 when the water temperatures lower to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
