Located in Santa Cruz, California, Swift Street is a chunky but quality right-hand reef break that offers up a sectiony and powerful wall for ripping into. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 100 meters over a rocky reef. Doesn’t start working until it’s about 8 foot, needs a massive swell to kick in.
What are the best surf conditions for Swift Street?
Gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will not be as crowded as other spots (5/10) (due to seal colonies and their predators). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 year-round here. Water temperatures range from 12 to 15. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
