Located in San Luis Obispo County, California, San Simeon Creek is a fun beach break that offers up some hollow peaks when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom. Often closed out.
What are the best surf conditions for San Simeon Creek?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here does not break very often (3/10) and will get busy at times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest and West. Works on a mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 15 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 12 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
