Located in Northern San Luis Obispo County, Central California, Cambria is a fun righthand reef break. The waves here can be a bit tricky (full of boils) and break for up to 50 meters over a rock bottom providing fun sections for turns and hacks.
What are the best surf conditions for Cambria?
Gets good on a massive swell between double overhead and triple overhead. Come here when everywhere else is maxed out. We recommend a shortboard for this spot. Cambria is best suited for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will have a local crew when it’s good (6/10). The best winds are offshore from the East. The best swells come from the North, West, or Northwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 here in the summer when water temps rise to around 15 degrees in August. In winter a 5/4 is the best suit to have as water temps drop to around 12 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
