Located in La Jolla, San Diego County, La Jolla (Scripps Pier) is a fun beach break. The waves here break over a sand bottom with peaks on both sides of the pier. The south side usually has better waves. The banks in front of the car park to the south can get excellent. Some waves can be challenging and can break for up to 50 meters, providing fun sections for maneuvers.
Gets good between waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard when bigger here. La Jolla is best suited to beginner to advanced surfers.
