Located in Virginia, Sandbridge is an OK beach break that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf well and break for up to 150 meters providing some fun sections for manoeuvres. It can barrel when the conditions are right.
What are the best surf conditions for Sandbridge?
Gets good from head high to double overhead. A shortboard is the way to go here when the waves are good. This beach is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and can get a little busy during the summers (5/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the North, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Works best on low to mid tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 27 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 5/4 wetsuit when temps drop to 5 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
