More on No Kandui

Located on the Northern Mentawai Islands, Indonesia, No Kandui is a world-class left reef break that offers up some almost (and sometimes) too fast barreling sections over a seemingly endless reef. The waves here are challenging to catch and surf, breaking for up to 300 meters over a sharp reef. Its name comes from the unmakable nature of many of the barrels here.

What are the best surf conditions for No Kandui?

Gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, step up or a gun as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here does not break very often (3/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on More...
