Located in Rote, Indonesia, Boa is a quality righthand reef setup that comes to life offering up long barrels when a bigger swell starts wrapping around the island. The waves here are challenging and shallow, breaking for up to 200 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Boa?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the Southwest and West.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round here. Water temperatures rise to 29 degrees in the summer before dropping only to 27 in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
