Located in West Southern England, Boscombe was the site of an artificial reef project. This project failed, and the bags of sand that made up the bottom started breaking. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. The best you get here are some performance sections for manoeuvres but this does not happen often.
What are the best surf conditions for Boscombe?
Gets good between waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here hardly ever breaks (2/10) and will have a crew on it when it does (7/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the East, Southeast, South, and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when the water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
