Located in Southeastern England, West Wittering is a poor beach break that offers up some easygoing waves for longboarding or beginners. The waves here are generally easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. This beach can get popular with windsurfers as well.
What are the best surf conditions for West Wittering?
Gets good between waist high to head high. We recommend riding a longboard here in all conditions. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here hardly ever breaks (2/10) and will have a dedicated local crew on it when it does (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is best when water temps drop to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
