Located in Southeastern England, Joss Bay is an alright beach break with some scattered reefs that offer up good lefts and rights for performance manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom. This is the main surf spot in Kent County.
What are the best surf conditions for Joss Bay?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here hardly breaks (2/10) and will get crowded often (8/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when temps plunge to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
