Located in Southeastern England on the Isle of Wight, Compton is a fun beach break that offers up some good sections for carves and hacks. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Compton?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not super consistent (4/10) and will usually have a crew on it (6/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when the water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
