Located in Southeastern England, Eastbourne is a fun beach break that offers up some decent sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Best when there is big storm surf elsewhere, this spot is sheltered and will tame the big stuff.
What are the best surf conditions for Eastbourne?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will generally have a crew when it does (6/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the East, South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on a mid tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when temps plunge to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
