Located in East Anglia, England, Walcott is a series of groyne setups that offer up some sucky, steep barrel sections for some tubes. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Walcott?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is not consistent (2/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, Northwest, and Southeast. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 7 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
