Located in Western Cornwall, England, Porthmeor is a fun beach break that offers up some good hollow tubes when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Works on larger swells.
What are the best surf conditions for Porthmeor?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here when smaller and a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will not be too crowded (4/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the Northwest, South, and Southwest. Works on a low to mid tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
