Located in West Cornwall, England, Chapel Porth is a fun beach break that offers up some smooth barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Chapel Porth?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will usually be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a low to mid tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 will work for the 9 degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
