Located in Cornwall, England, Praa Sands is a classy beach break that offers up fast tubes when the conditions line up. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. If it is working here it will be crowded.
What are the best surf conditions for Praa Sands?
Gets good between waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here doesn’t break well often (3/10) and can get quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, South, and West. Works on a low to mid tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 will work for the 9 degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
