Located in South Cornwall and Devon, England, Challaborough is a fun right point set up that has a walling ride perfect for manoeuvres. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rock and sand bottom. There is also a beach break on the inside that can get good.
What are the best surf conditions for Challaborough?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will be insanely crowded when it does (9/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on low to mid tide best for the point but the beach break works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
