More on Villefranche Sur Mer

Located in Southern France, Villefranche Sur Mer is an excellent rocky reef break that provides hollow, powerful rides. The waves here are not easy to surf and the shallow rocks make it quite dangerous. There is a left and a right that break for up to 100 meters, but the left is more consistent and a bit more user-friendly.

What are the best surf conditions for Villefranche Sur Mer?

Gets good from waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or step up here. This break is suited only to advanced and expert tube riders. The surf here hardly breaks (2/10) and the locals will be frothing when it does (9/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South. Works on all tides.
