More on La Nord

La Nord is a beach break, always crowded because of its location in the centre of Hossegor. It works from 2ft but can become magic when the swell is over 8ft. It can hold big swells up to 20ft. Every year, the spots hosts the big wave contest “La Nord Challenge”.

La Nord works at all tides, but shows its best at mid. It offers rights and lefts when the waves are small, but it is better to focus on the rights when it gets bigger. Use the channel at the south of the spot to paddle out the back.

Be careful when it’s over 8-10ft as the waves become very powerful and can hold you under water for a long time. Only advanced surfers should surf it in these conditions. More...
