Wilson’s Promontory is a large peninsula jutting off of Victoria and the Great Ocean Road. The east side is home to several good reefs and beach breaks usually over a rock or sandy bottom. Most waves here are challenging but can break for up to 100 meters, providing opportunities for large turns or barrels depending on the wave.
What are the best surf conditions for Wilson’s Promontory?
The breaks here get good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend bringing both a longboard and shortboard depending on the swell. The breaks here are best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. It is very remote, and all breaks require a decent hike in with all your gear.
