Main beach or Kiddies beach – beginner wave which is basically a straight hander onto the beach. The nearby wreck offers a nice ride for the more experienced. If the swell is up get to the Pass. Plenty of other options around too.
Gets good between chest-high to head-high. We recommend riding your longboard or standard shortboard here. Main Beach in Byron is best suited to beginner to advanced surfers. There’s usually a wave (5/10) and it can get busy especially in summer(5/10). The best winds for Main Beach are Southwest. The best swell direction is from the Northeast.
