Located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, about 2 km offshore there is a small rocky islet, Ilha do Lobos, home to a heavy barreling left reef break nicknamed the Brazilian Teahupoo. The waves here are heavy, ledgy, and thick, requiring plenty of surf acumen to surf safely. They break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a shallow rock reef.
